Living History Presentations: Our primary mission is Education. Thanks to area instructors 1st Force Recon (reenacting) has the opportunity to talk with students about the War in Vietnam. Rosemont High's very own Mr. Greene has enabled us to speak with his students on many occasions. To date, 1st Force (Reenacting) has spoken to over 3,000 California young people.

Mr. Greene gives background of the era and political situation in the USA.

Static display is silhouetted.

Force Recon enters amid sound effects of jungle and distant helicopter.

Using model guns for added realism Recon "patrols the stage"

The team inserts and slowly moves along the trail covering ground

Four to six men participate in educational reenactments.

What's this? Time to radio base

The Recon team makes regular radio checks so command can locate their position

After checking in, the team continues to hunt for the enemy. Background sound diminishes.

The Recon team introduces itself and begins an interactive demonstration

Weapons, tactics and the three techniques used in recon are discussed

and demonstrated with live participation of the audience.

Later, "reinforcements" are called in to help out the team.

Direct student participation creates a memory for the audience

and the volunteers who get geared up and join in the presentation.

Student participants form a 360 to protect their squad leader

All that gear is a little heavy isn't it?

Yes! All the gear is real.

Learning is fun!

except the guns...

and the grenades. They're insert to USA and California standards. Filled with an inert permanent substance: ie GreatStuff!
